PLAINFIELD HOUSING AUTHORITY

The Plainfield Housing Authority consists of the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program and Sunny Acres, Elderly / Disabled site located in Moosup, CT. Waiting lists for both programs are currently open. Applications can be obtained at the Housing Authority located at the Plainfield Town Hall, 8 Community Avenue, Plainfield, CT. The Section 8 Administrator is Carol Rainville, she can be contacted between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 230-3022 and will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have. The Executive Director for the Housing Authority is Cheryl Bryer, she is also the site manager for Sunny Acres and can be contacted between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at 564-3760. She also works part-time for the Section 8 program at the Plainfield Town Hall between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, she can be contacted at 230-3021 for any questions for the Elderly site or the Section 8 program. The Plainfield Housing Authority has a Board of Commissioners, which consists of 5 Plainfield residents who volunteer their time for the committee. The Housing Authority Commission holds its monthly meeting on the second Tuesday of every month at 1:00 p.m. in the Section 8 office at the Plainfield Town Hall.

The Plainfield Housing Authorities Section 8 Program income eligibility is as follows:

1 person between $15,950 - $26,550

2 people between $18,200 - $30,350

3 people between $20,500 - $34,150

4 people between $22,750 - $37,950

5 people between $24,550 - $41,000

6 people between $26,400 - $44,000
